Another one-of-a-kind option that we offer are feather inlays.  These range from simple two and three feather inlays too more intricate lay-outs.  The feathers used will always match the color scheme of the respective rod.  The feathers comprising an inlay are adhered to the blank using a durable, clear adhesive.  These are then covered with multiple, thin coats of rod finish for a durable, smooth look.  These inlays are entirely flexible and saltwater safe, so feel free to request their use on a rod intended for the roughest of fishing conditions.

Our feather inlays are usually placed above the grip and most often include the wrap for the hook keep and a trim wrap at the tip end of the inlay.  We can also construct feather inlays over top of ferrule reinforcement wraps to add a classy look to a purely functional area.  We have an extensive inventory of feathers for use in inlays.

You will also find representative photos of finished guide wraps by clicking the Thread Wraps link below.  We most often use size A nylon thread for its color fastness and durability.  We can however use 3/0 silk thread if desired.  We finish our wraps with two coats of thin polymer finish to ensure even, complete coverage with no excess build-up of finish.  We extend the finish 1/16 of an inch onto the blank's surface to ensure that the wrap's edge is covered and protected from abrasion.  We feel this is the best method to provide a perfectly level, durable coating over the thread.
